- Prominent figure in Brazil's Mouth of Garbage Cinema, a genre of grungy exploitation film which emerged out of the Sao Paulo area in the late '70s and early '80s. Notorious for casting his productions with various street people including the homeless and junkies, Baby's films often depicted rape, beastiality, homosexuality, amputee sex, giant orgies and transgender sex.

Returned to directing in 2008, after a near twenty year hiatus, with "Chief's Daughter", starring his own actual daughter, and "Lust of the Believers". Both titles were seized by Brazilian authorities later that year when it was discovered that he had cast underage girls.

Baby allegedly committed suicide on August 16, 2008, jumping from the bridge of the River Uruguay. His body was never found.
